Hollow Bones | What's in a name?

After writing my first few blog posts I realized I wanted to give it a special name. So I set out to do just that.

To do this I opened myself and my heart up and put my clear intention out into the Cosmos. Then I simply had the faith that it would come to me in the way that it was meant to.

For those who do not personally know me, I live in Northern California and particularly I used to live in Paradise, CA. In November of 2018 a wildfire swept through my little mountain town and left only ashes in its wake.

I came out unscathed with a car load of my and my son's stuff. Before I left my home that morning the last thing I did was stand in front of my two bookshelves. At that moment the lights went out in my house and before I could pull even one book off my shelves I decided it was time for me to leave.

So I left and drove myself to safety.

One of the books that burned in that fire I recently bought again. As I started to read it again I read about a term that I had not remembered nor thought about. As I read it and what it meant I knew in that moment that that was the name I wanted to use as my Blog's name.

The book is Native American Healing Arts by E. Barrie Kavasch. The term I read and knew would be this blog's name was Hollow Bones.

Hollow Bones is a Native American term that refers to how the tribal holy men see themselves as conduits of the Great Mysteries, allowing information to get to the people.

I do not think it an accident that I came across this term as my heart was seeking a name for my new blog. And while I do not think myself a holy woman, I am a seasoned Herbalist with lots of information and acquired knowledge to share and a big desire to share it.

And there you have it! A name that means something big to me and that I promise to live up to. You can let me know how I am doing by leaving me a comment or sending me an email at moonwiseherbals@gmail.com

Happy Friday the 13th!
